If you are an EU citizen, you do not need a VISA to enter Bulgaria, but a valid ID card or a valid passport. However, if you are staying for more than three months, a residence permit is required. A long-stay residence permit is also issued to family members of a citizen - spouse and children.

Requirements or how to obtain a long-stay permit in Bulgaria, which is up to 5 years, you need to provide:

1. Valid ID card or passport
2. Proof of accommodation - rental contract and notarized declaration
3. Health insurance
4. Proof of sufficient financial means
5. A clear purpose for your stay.
